Download Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad Driver 19.5.31.11 for Windows 10 (Keyboard & Mouse).

So this issue started occurring in early October of 2018 and I've had this ENVY for a little over a year. The issue is that my Synaptics SMBus TouchPad is not responding.I have the animated tray icon in my taskbar and there is a red X over it.In ClickPad Settings under Mouse Properties ClickPad is enabled. (I've tried double-tapping the top left corner of the touchpad as well)In General under Synaptics SMBus TouchPad Properties, it states that 'This device is working properly.' Welcome to the HP Forums!Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.Awesome job on diagnosing the issue correctly and performing smart troubleshooting before posting your question on HP forums.

Kudos to you on that score.I recommend you uninstall the touchpad driver from device manager and then download and install it from the below link and check. If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you perform a system restore on the computer back to the date when the touchpad was working fine.Follow the steps in the below article to perform a system restore.Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Your feedback counts!Cheers! Hello, I'm back again,Because of finals, I didn't want to attempt the solutions for fear that it would take too long.Anywho, after trying to use the HP Recovery Manager, I found that there was no such app on my computer and so attempting to use a restore point I was again unsuccessful because the problem wasn't recent enough to send my computer back to that state.Luckily with some more reading in that article, you suggested me to read I was able to Reset This PC, keeping my files, this solution worked for me! And after two days of the touchpad still working I have decided that this was the solution.Hopefully, this is the last time I come back to this and thanks for your help!

Synaptics Ps 2 Port Touchpad Not Working

@katn97I'm sorry you're running into this issue with the touchpad.Steps to Reinstall the Touchpad Driver1. Press the Windows key + X2. Click Device Manager3. Expand Mice and other input devices4. Double-click on 'Synaptics'5. Click the Driver tab6. Make note of the version number shown there and let me know what that is in your reply7.

Click the Uninstall button8. Click Restart Now, when promptedDuring the restart, Windows will detect and reinstall the missing driver on its own. Allow it to finish loading and try the touchpad again. Please let me know which driver version number is shown on the Driver tab, so I can compare it to the most recent version.Let me know the results also, please. I've recently ran into some troble with the Synaptics driver for touchpad and I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have a HP pavilion g6-2213sa laptop.

Unauthenticated pointing device on ps/2 port

Last evening the Synaptics Driver crashed and usually I can tell when it has stopped working because the red light that goes on when I disable the touchpad (by tapping the small dent in the corner of the touchpad) does not light. This happened, and my cursor became very erratic and unresponsive, so I downloaded a replacement driver from the HP pavilion website that corresponded to my system's specifications. To me, it seems like Synaptics has been re-installed as the red light I mentioned beforehand lights. However, the touchpad refuses to scroll and instead when my move my finger where the scroller is on the touchpad, nothing happens.

I've checked my Synaptics settings and scrolling is checked, so I don't know what is causing the scroller to remain unresponsive. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!Panic over! I forgot to check the Synaptics settings after I reinstalled the driver. Sorry for the topic bump!
